“Our extraordinary customers, franchise owners, team members and charity partners have outdone themselves this year during our 4^th Annual Month of Giving,” said Peter Cancro, Jersey Mike’s founder and CEO.  “We exceeded our goal and are grateful to everyone who helped make a difference in people’s lives.”

During the month of March, customers were invited to come in to their local Jersey Mike’s restaurant and make a donation to a local designated charity partner. The campaign culminated in Jersey Mike’s “Day of Giving” on Wednesday, March 26, a daylong nationwide event when 100 percent of the day’s sales were donated to each local charity partner. The charity recipients included hospitals, youth organizations, food banks and more.

Last year’s “Month of Giving” raised $1.7 million for 86 local charities. Since 2010, Jersey Mike’s locations throughout the country have raised nearly $10 million for worthy local charities and have distributed more than 750,000 free sub sandwiches to help numerous causes.

The Children's Hunger Project is delighted beyond words to be chosen again as a beneficiary during Jersey Mike’s Month of Giving. Bryan Price and his team have supported The Children’s Hunger Project in a remarkable manner. The Jersey Mike’s Subs locations in Brevard County also assist our charity throughout the year. The money raised is a blessing with all of it going to purchase food for local hungry and undernourished kids. No administrative costs are involved with any money raised during the Jersey Mike’s Month of Giving program. We are equally excited over the prospect of having our name displayed in each of the stores. This gives us the opportunity of creating awareness to many people that may not have heard about us through other channels. In our area, the problem of hunger and malnutrition is much higher than the national average. How touching it is to have a food vendor be the catalyst for making it possible for people who are not their customers…elementary school age kids…to receive food. Jersey Mike’s Month of Giving Program helped SA Youth tremendously last year. Because of your donations, SA Youth helped 3,500 kids stay off the streets and out of trouble.We served almost a million hot meals to hungry children after school and during the long summer months when school’s not in session. And, 138 young people who had previously quit school got a second chance at life, by coming to SA Youth to work on getting a high school diploma and a job skill. We are thrilled that Ronnie Gibson and Jersey Mike’s in both Laurinburg and Pembroke have again selected Scotland Cancer Treatment Center as the organization of choice for the 31 days of the Month of Giving. We enjoyed working with them last year and look forward to partnering with them again this year during the month of March to raise funds for the support of our cancer center. The funds will go directly to help our patients in need by providing financial assistance with medications, transportation, personal care items, and wigs. We are once again very excited about being selected and really appreciate Jersey Mike’s for their continued support of our patients as they strive to win their battle against cancer.

Seattle Children’s has a great relationship with Jersey Mike’s Subs. Their local co-op supports us throughout the year with donations for events and families. Southeastern Firefighters Burn Foundation

We are so grateful for the opportunity to be a Jersey Mike's Month of Giving charity partner. The donation we receive from Jersey Mike's will enable the Southeastern Firefighters Burn Foundation to further its mission to help families of burn patients being treated at the Joseph M. Still Burn Center at Doctors Hospital. SFBF is able to provide free lodging, meals, transportation, anti-scarring garments and medication because of the generosity of corporations like Jersey Mike's.

Who would have thought that enjoying a sandwich, chips and a soft drink could impact thousands and thousands of lives? Jersey Mike’s Founder Peter Cancro did, and Steven’s Hope for Children is honored to be included in this event that will benefit families of seriously ill or injured children with housing, food, clothing and other expenses during the time of their child’s health crisis.

Take a Vet Fishing

A great big salute and thank you to Jersey Mike's Month of Giving from Take-A-Vet-Fishing in Connecticut! Your support is a testament to the compassion and goodwill which our disabled and recovering veterans deserve to have in their lives after serving their country. Our mission is simple, to get vets and their staff out of the clinical environment for a relaxing day of fishing. Everything needed is provided including equipment, food and drink. After that... things take care of themselves. Whether a vet seeks solitude or camaraderie, fishing or fellowship, the results are remarkable and often profound. Jersey Mike's has been there helping us for several years. It doesn't hurt that the vets love Jersey Mike's subs! Thank you, with all our heart!

Thank you to Jersey Mike’s for their amazing efforts in raising over $28,000 last year during the month of March to benefit the Stefanie Spielman Fund for Breast Cancer Research through their Month of Giving campaign. Jersey Mike’s support did not stop there, as they also donated boxed lunches to two local golf fundraisers that also support OSUCCC-The James. We are thrilled to again receive Jersey Mike’s support this March, as support such as this from our community is key to our efforts in the fight against breast cancer through the Spielman Fund.

Topeka Youth Project

Topeka Youth Project’s Jobs for Young Adults program is celebrating 30 years of providing more than 6,000 young adults job readiness and life skills training with a 94% employment rate. These young people are tax paying citizens in our community aging from 16 to 48 years of age. Some of the graduates from years past now hire current graduates, provide mentorship to young adults who need support from an adult who cares about their future. Topeka Youth Project’s Youth Court provides youth with the opportunity for leadership, to learn more about their civic duty, and how to take responsibility for their actions by attending court. This program is youth led and youth driven by 13-18 year old students. The judge, prosecutor, defense attorney, jurors, bailiff, court clerk and defendants are all teenagers. They hear cases of first time traffic offenders, with misdemeanor charges.

We are very grateful to Jersey Mike’s for choosing The Union Mission as it’s charity partner for the March Month of Giving campaign. The Union Mission does not receive any state or federal funding but relies solely on the generosity of individuals, churches and businesses to do this work we have been called to do.
