100% of Sales Go to Charities on March 26 “Day of Giving”

Wrap-Up

Jersey Mike’s Subs, known for its authentic fresh sliced/fresh grilled subs, joined with its generous customers this March during the 4th Annual “Month of Giving” to raise an unprecedented $2.1 million for more than 100 different charities nationwide.  For the total amount raised in your local market as well as a complete listing of participating restaurants and charities in your area, go to www.jerseymikes.com/mog.

“Our extraordinary customers, franchise owners, team members and charity partners have outdone themselves this year during our 4th Annual Month of Giving,” said Peter Cancro, Jersey Mike’s founder and CEO.  “We exceeded our goal and are grateful to everyone who helped make a difference in people’s lives.”

During the month of March, customers were invited to come in to their local Jersey Mike’s restaurant and make a donation to a local designated charity partner. The campaign culminated in Jersey Mike’s “Day of Giving” on Wednesday, March 26, a daylong nationwide event when 100 percent of the day’s sales were donated to each local charity partner. The charity recipients included hospitals, youth organizations, food banks and more.

Last year’s “Month of Giving” raised $1.7 million for 86 local charities. Since 2010, Jersey Mike’s locations throughout the country have raised nearly $10 million for worthy local charities and have distributed more than 750,000 free sub sandwiches to help numerous causes.

Jersey Mike’s believes that making a sub sandwich and making a difference can be one and the same, a philosophy that has fueled the sub sandwich chain’s popularity.  Following its successful recipe of deliberate, well-considered expansion, Jersey Mike’s has nearly doubled in size in just three years.

Jersey Mike’s, a fast-casual sub sandwich franchise with more than 1,300 locations open and under development nationwide, has a long history of community involvement and support.  Jersey Mike’s serves authentic fresh sliced subs on freshly baked bread – the same recipe it started with in 1956.  The company’s mission is to bring its customers the highest quality, freshest made sub in the industry and give back to the communities in which it operates.  A restaurant locator and franchise information for Jersey Mike’s can be found at www.jerseymikes.com or on Facebook (www.facebook.com/jerseymikes) and Twitter (www.twitter.com/jerseymikes).

Introduction

Day of Giving Logo

This March, Jersey Mike’s Subs, known for its authentic fresh sliced/fresh grilled subs, is joining forces with more than 100 local charities for the company’s 4th Annual March “Month of Giving” fundraising campaign. Last year’s Month of Giving raised $1.7 million for 86 different charities nationwide and this year Jersey Mike’s hope to raise even more.

During the month of March, all are invited to come into their local Jersey Mike’s restaurant and make a donation to that location’s designated charity partner. Charities include hospitals, youth organizations, food banks and more. Jersey Mike’s will offer special incentives as a thank you such as $1 off offer for the next visit with $1 donation or a Free Chip and Drink offer for the next visit with a $3 donation.

The campaign will culminate in the nationwide event, Jersey Mike’s “Day of Giving” on Wednesday, March 26 when 100% of the day’s sales are donated to the local partner charity. For a list of participating restaurants and for more information on charity partners, please visit www.jerseymikes.com/mog.

“I would like to extend a personal invitation to come in and enjoy a Jersey Mike’s sub during our Month of Giving,” said Peter Cancro, Jersey Mike’s founder and CEO, who started the company when he was only 17 years old.  “This year we hope to raise more than $2 million to support these local causes so we can bring hope to all those involved with the charities and make a difference in people’s lives.”

“Giving…making a difference in someone’s life” has been the mission of Jersey Mike’s from the beginning. Since 2010, Jersey Mike’s locations throughout the country have raised nearly $7.5 million for worthy local charities and have distributed more than 600,000 free sub sandwiches to help numerous causes.

Last year, Jersey Mike’s opened 140 new locations with unit growth of 22%.  Started in 1956, the sub chain now has more than 1,300 restaurants open and under development nationwide.

A restaurant locator and franchise information for Jersey Mike’s can be found at www.jerseymikes.com.

Jennifer Peterson, Director of Corporate Development

Children's Hunger Project

The Children's Hunger Project is delighted beyond words to be chosen again as a beneficiary during Jersey Mike’s Month of Giving. Bryan Price and his team have supported The Children’s Hunger Project in a remarkable manner. The Jersey Mike’s Subs locations in Brevard County also assist our charity throughout the year. The money raised is a blessing with all of it going to purchase food for local hungry and undernourished kids. No administrative costs are involved with any money raised during the Jersey Mike’s Month of Giving program. We are equally excited over the prospect of having our name displayed in each of the stores. This gives us the opportunity of creating awareness to many people that may not have heard about us through other channels. In our area, the problem of hunger and malnutrition is much higher than the national average. How touching it is to have a food vendor be the catalyst for making it possible for people who are not their customers…elementary school age kids…to receive food. Mere words are not sufficient for me to express how blessed we are to have the support of Jersey Mike’s Subs. What I am able to say, though, on behalf of kids that have no voice, "THANK YOU”!

Robert Barnes, Co-Founder

Clements Boys & Girls Club

Northern California Veterans Museum & Heritage Center

Since Jersey Mike’s open in Redding California in 2013 they have been dedicated to supporting the Veterans community. The monies raised from the Jersey’s Mikes Month of Giving will allow the Northern California Veterans Museum and Heritage Center to move forward with our building project located on Airport Road. Having a dedicated location for the museum allows veterans to visit and remember which is critical in the healing process for both the injured Veterans and their families, whether the injury can been seen from an outside appearance. It allows Gold Star families the opportunity to talk about their loved ones with individuals that are dedicated to keeping the sacrifices of their loved ones alive. Our Mission is dedicated to the preservation, promotion, and to honor Veterans of all branches for the United States Military, maintaining the history and the traditions in way that might not otherwise be available through appropriated funds. The museum will forever document and depict the story of American history as seen through the eyes of its veterans.
